Abstract: The reaction of 1,2-dichloroethane and chlorine redical was studied. Chlorine radical was produced by photolysis of chlorine gas using nitrogen laser.
Quantum yield of this reaction is much higher than that of the reaction without chlorine. The mechanism of this reaction has been discussed.
