High Vibrationally Excited Co(υ, X1Σ+) from the UV Laser Photolysis of CHBr3+O2 System

Abstract: Photolysis of the CHBr_3+O_2 system with the 193 nm laser has been investigated by means of our UV laser photolysis time-resolved infrared spectrometer. CO(v, X~1Σ~+) was observed up to v=10 and population conversion up to v=5. The quenching constants for CO(v=1 to 10) by O_2 have also been deduced. We think that the reaction CHBr_(x)+O_2→CO(v, X~1Σ~+)+other products(x=1 or 2) plays an important role under our experimental conditions.
