Abstract: The measurement of the kinetic rate constant of the reaction of O(~3P) atoms with n-butanone at 288K is carried out. O(~3P) atoms were generated by a microwave discharge flow system and the residual concentration was detected by NO_2* chemiluminescence. The specific rate constant obtained is κ=(6.2±1.2)×10~(-15)cm~3 molecule~(-1) s~(-1) (T=288 K).A correlation diagram of molecular orbitals for the reaction is discussed.
