A Low Temperature Infrared Study of the Selective Adsorption of NO and CO on CuO/γ-Al2O3

Abstract: The low temperature infrared spectroscopy was applied to investigate the adsorp-tion of NO and CO on CuO/γ-Al_2O_3. The measured infrared bands were asigned. The results of alternate adsorption and coadsorption of NO and CO exhibited that Cu~(2+) and Cu~+ sites coexist on the surface of oxidized CuO/γ-Al_2O_3 and the selective ad-sorption of CO/Cu~+ and NO/Cu~(2+) was observed.
