Abstract: In this paper, two different kinds of B-Z type oscillating reactions have been described. One is the couple catalyzed oscillating reaction with vanillin(OA) as the organic substrate. Another is the uncatalyzed oscillating reaction with 2,7-dihydroxynaphthalene (DN) as the organic substrate. Effects of many factors on the oscillations have been examined. According to the FKN mechanism, a simple model for the catalyzed oscillation has been proposed. Each of experimental results can be explained with this model. It is found thad the model can also be employed in the uncatalyzed oscillating reaction supposing that the organic substrate DN can play the role of catalyst as the metal ion in the catalyzed oscillating reaction.
