Analysis on Supercritical Fluid Drying Process

Abstract:

Supercritical fluid drying (SCFD) method has been used for rapidly synthesizing ZrO2 aerogel ultrafine powders with high surface area and pore volume. The method has good stability and reliability. An analytical method to determine the water content in the liquid phase of ZrO2 alcogel has been established in order to guarantee the quality control of ultrafine powders and the confirmation of a supercritical state. The analysis of the solvent after the SCFD process has showed that SCFD is a physical process. In this paper the drying process of water extraction has also been discussed.
