Abstract: An efficient method for purification of singlewalled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) synthesized by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) has been developed.Sample purity is characterized with SEM,TEM,Raman, and TGA.The results indicate that the support and catalyst are easily removed by an acid treatment and the amorphous carbon can be separated from the SWNTS by dispersion in surfactant solution using ultrasonic agitation, and extracted completely by using reflux of the SWNTs in dilute nitric acid or oxidation of the SWNTs in the air.
