Preparation and Optical Properties of CdTe and 2,4,6-tri [N-(4-hydroxyphenyl)maleimide]-triazine Hybrid Nanocomposites

Abstract: CdTe quantum dots (QDs) stabilized by mercaptopropionic acid (MPA) with strong fluorescence were prepared in aqueous solution at low temperature. A series of hybrid nanocomposites of CdTe/2,4,6-tri[N-(4-hydroxyphenyl)maleimide] triazine (TMT) were successfully prepared at room temperature based on the existence of strong hydrogen-bond interactions between the CdTe quantum dots and TMT. The photophysical properties of these nanocomposites were systematically investigated by UV-Vis and PL spectra, which indicated that energy transfer (ET) occurred between CdTe QDs and TMT. In addition, the morphologies of these nanocomposites were also observed by transmission electronic microscopy, showing that there was an extraordinary enhancement of the dispersibility of CdTe quantum dots.
