Metastable Equilibrium Solubilities of Solutions in the Quaternary System of K2B4O7-Na2B4O7-Li2B4O7-H2O at 273 K

Abstract: Metastable equilibrium solubilities and densities of the quaternary system of K2B4O7-Na2B4O7-Li2B4O7-H2O at 273 K were studied by isothermal evaporation method. Based on the solubility data, the metastable equilibrium phase diagramof the systemwas plotted, which consists of one invariant point E; three univariant curves E1E, E2E, and E3E, three crystallization fields Na2B4O7·10H2O , K2B4O7·4H2O, and LiBO2·8H2O. Potassium borate (K2B4O7) had the largest solubility in the system.
