Abstract: The characteristics of Mg electrodeposition on Pt in DMF have been investigated by means of cyclic voltammetry and rotating ring-disk electrode technique, The current-potential curves of Mg electrodeposition indicate that this electro deposition process is irreversible. The order of reaction for Mg~(2+) was found to beunity. A rate constant k of 10~(-7) cm s~(-1) was obtained for this electrodeposition process.
