Synthesis of Hierarchically Meso-Macroporous Structured Carbon Sieve by Dual-template Method

Monolithic carbon sieves with meso-macroporous structure were successfully synthesized with phenol-formaldehyde resin oligomer as precursor by dual-template method. The macropores and mesopores were attained by the removal of SiO2 opal and self-assembling block copolymer respectively. The as-prepared samples were characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and nitrogen adsorption-desorption isotherm measurement. The results indicated that the mesopores with diameters of 10 nm and macropores with diameters of 230 nm were formed during the removal of SiO2 opal and block copolymer.
