Reduced Extent Method Forthermokinetics I. Thermokineticmodels of Reversible Reaction

Abstract: A new concept, reduced extent of reaction, is introduced in this paper. Some new mathematical models of reversible reaction kinetics are suggested, and a reduced extent method for study of the thermokinetics of reversible reaction is proposed. A reversible reaction system, tris(hydroxymethyl) aminomethane with nitroethane in water(μ=1.0), has been studied with this method at 30.0 ℃. Rate constants and equilibrium constant calculated with this model are in fair agreement with that given in the literature. Thus, the correctness of the models and the validity of this method are proved.
