Kinetics Study of Zeolite in Hydrothermal Solutions

Abstract: In this paper, we conducted a series of experiments on zeolite in water and in acidic solutions using a continuous stirred tank reactor(CSTR) of an open system. We measured the reaction rates for zeolite with water and with low pH solutions at room temperature, and conducted associated studies of mineral surfaces by using SEM and SIMS. The results showed that incongruent dissolution of zeolite was related to the surface chemical modifications.
