Communications must contain original and highly significant results in physical chemistry and high novelty warrants rapid publication. It is expected that Communications will be 3000-4000 words in length. Authors should supply with their submission a justification of why the work merits urgent publication as a Communication.
Perspectives are intended to be a critical analysis of a topic of current exciting interest, with an emphasis toward identifying key advances being made or/and potential challenges ahead. Perspectives may also advocate a controversial position or present a speculative hypothesis. It is expected that Perspectives will be about 4000 words in length and contain no more than 50 references. Photographs and brief biographies (max 100 words) for each author of the Perspective must be included.
Feature Articles are concise and clear summaries of the most recent activity of the author and his/her group. The author should provide a clear, concise, and critical status report of the field as an introduction to the article. The author’s own contribution and its relationship to other work in the field should constitute the main body of the article. Controversies, if they exist, should also be outlined. Possible future directions and the significance of the research area to the field of physical chemistry should be pointed out. It is expected that Feature Articles will be about 6000 words in length and contain no more than 50 references. Photographs and brief biographies (max 100 words) for each author of the Feature Article must be included.
Reviews are strictly reviews of active and rapidly changing physical chemistry fields. The content should be based on the author’s own research work. It is expected that Reviews will be more than 10000 words in length and contain more than 100 references. Photographs and brief biographies (max 100 words) for each author of the Reviews must be included.
Articles should report original research that is expected to have a definable impact on the field of physical chemistry. Full papers based on Communications are encouraged provided that they represent a substantial extension of the original material. Manuscripts should cover the research with thoroughness and clarity but should be as concise as possible. There are no restrictions on the length of a paper.
Highlights include brief summaries and scholarly comments on recent research achievements in physical chemistry, with emphasis on contributions of Chinese scientists. It is expected that Highlights will be less than 1000 words in length and contain no more than 10 references. No abstract, keywords, introduction and conclusion are required.
