Abstract: MXene, due to its unique accordion-like structure and abundant functional groups on its surface, can serve as the matrix for electromagnetic absorption (EMA) materials. However, the inherent limitations of pure MXene do not facilitate impedance matching, and it is necessary to composite MXene with other absorbing materials to enhance the absorbing performance. In this study, Ti3C2Tx@CoS2 composites were successfully fabricated through a facile hydrothermal method. In situ incorporation of CoS2 nanoparticles (NPs) onto MXene established a well-coupled electromagnetic network, which effectively regulated the dielectric response and optimized impedance matching. The MCS-3 achieved a minimum reflection loss (RLmin) of -54.04 dB at a thickness of 2.08 mm and a maximum effective absorption bandwidth (EABmax) of 5.28 GHz. Meanwhile, the radar cross-section (RCS) simulation results show that the MCS-3 has excellent radar wave attenuation capability, with an attenuation value of 24.49 dB m2. This indicates that it has great potential for application in the military stealth field. It enhances the EMA performance through the synergistic effects of dielectric loss, magnetic loss, interfacial polarization and multiple reflections. This study provides guiding insights for the development of efficient and tunable MXene-based EMA materials.
