Abstract: 5fluorouracil porphyrin compounds are a new type of potential antitumor drugs. Six new 5fluorouracil porphyrin compounds were synthesized first and characterized by means of elemental analysis, IR, 1HNMR and MS. The six 5fluorouracil porphyrin compounds were studied by absorption spectra, steadystate fluorescence spectroscopy and timeresolved single photon measurement, comparing with their primary porphyrin compounds. The 5fluorouracil porphyrin compounds with plentiful excited states and fluorescence lifetime of 7 ns are little influenced by substituents and solvents, which may be advantageously used to make singlet oxygen radical.
