Abstract: The synthesis reaction mechanisms were analyzed for the cathode materials LiNixMn2-xO4, which were synthesized by the solid-state reaction method and the wet-chemical method, respectively. XRD data indicated that a mixture precursor of Ni1Mn2O4 and Mn2O3 would be preferred for a solid solution of Ni3/4Mn1/4Mn2O4 when the solid-state reaction method was used for the material synthesis. As a result, the last product would be the mixture of NiO, LixNi1-xO and spinel LiNixMn2-xO4 (0
